Key Responsibilities: * Plan and lead all varsity team practices, games, and tournaments * Develop and implement a basketball program that aligns with SDJA’s values and athletic vision * Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and teamwork * Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and school administration * Support player academic success and character development * Supervise assistant coaches and collaborate with JV/middle school coaches * Ensure compliance with CIF rules and SDJA athletic policies * Coordinate preseason, in-season, and off-season training (within CIF guidelines) * Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture Qualifications: * Prior high school or collegiate coaching experience required (head coaching experience preferred) * Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills * CPR/First Aid, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, and Concussion in Sports certifications (or willingness to complete before season) * Knowledge of CIF regulations and high school basketball best practices * Must pass background check and complete all school onboarding requirements Compensation: * $25/hr ($5,000 for season)
