Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, the Director of Accounting will direct, plan, and organize the District’s accounting and financial services. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing the budget, closing the financial books, processing payroll, processing accounts payable/receivable, and overseeing the annual audit. The Director of Accounting supervises 11 staff in the department and communicates with program managers and site administrators regarding business activities and procedures. This is a leadership position, and the candidate must have strong decision-making and communication skills. Yuba City Unified SD has 18 schools and approximately 11,400 students.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Completion of four years of college, preferably with major work in accounting or business. Experience may be substituted at the rate of two years experience for one year college. Four years of increasingly responsible experience in governmental accounting and administration with strong supervisory experience.
