Job Summary
Southlands Christian Schools is seeking a High School Guidance Counselor. This position is responsible for working as a team with school personnel, parents, and the community to provide a complete, developmental counseling program focusing on academic, career, and personal/social development; managing the schedules and placement of assigned students; providing course and curriculum information and recommendations to students; developing plans and/or providing information regarding students' goals; ensuring completion of students' college applications within designated time frame; and creating an atmosphere to meet student needs through prevention, identification, and intervention. This position serves a vital ministry purpose in the school as the counselor helps to inform and guide students in discovering their calling and make aligning decisions for their future.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. Pupil Personnel Services Credential required 2. B.A. in psychology or related field required 3. Current TB test or TB risk assessment (within 4 years) 4. Livescan Fingerprinting required 5. Current CA Mandated Reporter certificate 6. First Aid/CPR certificate
