Mater Dei High School, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school of the Diocese of Orange has an opening for a Religious Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate must demonstrate current knowledge of the subject area and be able to engage students using a wide variety of teaching strategies. The candidate should be highly skilled at planning, organizing, and developing curriculum to meet all students’ needs and engage students in their overall development. Must embraces a deep commitment to the Catholic faith and values, passionately engaging in spiritual education and formation. Candidate must have the ability to collaborate with colleagues in the Religious Studies department and be enthusiastic about ongoing professional learning and development. Candidate should be dedicated to the mission of Catholic education, as envisioned in Church documents and teachings, rooted in our core principles of Honor, Glory, and Love. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and either a Master’s Degree in Theology or Pastoral Theology from a Catholic Institution (may be in process) or a Master Catechist Certification is required. Experience: Previous high school religious studies teaching experience is preferred. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in alignment with the Roman Catholic Church.
