Job Summary

Position Overview: The Middle–High School English Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 7 through 12, including preparation for Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The teacher will develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons that build critical reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills across a range of courses. This role requires integrating technology for instructional support and classroom management, maintaining accurate student records, and supporting the district’s goals for academic excellence and equity.

Requirements / Qualifications

Required: - Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or related field. - Valid California teaching credential in Secondary English or Multiple Subject (if applicable for middle school). - Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of English courses, including AP English. - Proficiency with educational technology and digital classroom management tools. Preferred: -Master’s degree in Education, English, or related field. -Prior experience teaching middle and high school students. -Experience teaching AP English courses and preparing students for AP exams. -Strong background in differentiated instruction and literacy interventions.
