The Chawanakee Unified School District is within a 30-minute drive of Fresno, Madera, and Merced. We are located in Eastern Madera County, extending from the floor of the San Joaquin Valley to the crest of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, including a significant amount of territory in the Sierra National Forest. The district encompasses the communities of North Fork, O’Neals, Tesoro Viejo, and Millerton Preserve. Spectacular recreational areas of Bass Lake and Yosemite National Park surround North Fork while the San Joaquin River borders Tesoro Viejo and Millerton Preserve on the eastern side. The district is close to Badger Pass and China Peak ski slopes, and we are just minutes from Millerton Lake State Park. The district is also surrounded by a multitude of High Sierra lakes and resorts.

Job Summary
The Middle School Athletic Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a school athletic team in a manner that supports student growth, teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development. The coach serves as a role model, promoting positive behaviors and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all student-athletes. Hours: seasonal, days and hours vary. August 2025- May 2026
Requirements / Qualifications
Previous coaching experience is desirable. Upon hire must clear fingerprint scan, pre-employment physical, submit proof of negative TB and proof of CPR certification. Must complete required online coaching courses before starting.
