Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent • Must have completed a certified program of study to be a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Must have State Certification from the Speech Pathology and Audiology Board of California • Must have a valid class C Driver License • Knowledge of normal speech, language, and hearing development • Knowledge of language disorders, articulation disorders, acquired disorders and rehabilitation techniques • Knowledge of hearing disorders, aural rehabilitation techniques, and phonetics • Ability to deal effectively with attitudes and behaviors of students • Ability to maintain student performance documentation • Ability to communicate screening results and supplemental information to supervisors • Ability to administer behavior and treatment program • Ability to provide effective implementation of treatment objectives
