Assists a teacher in a Child Development Center in conducting instructional activities, providing services to children newborn to fifth grade.

Requirements / Qualifications

Answers to the supplemental questions, a copy of your High School diploma or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency, and transcripts verifying at least 12 units of college coursework (see minimum qualifications) must be submitted with your application. If you have previously held a Child Development permit, a copy of your permit must be submitted with your application. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Incumbents must apply for and obtain an Associate Teacher Permit through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. To maintain employment, incumbents are required to complete 105 hours of professional growth activities and renew the Associate Teacher Permit every five years. There is no limit to the number of times the permit may be renewed. Fees related to obtaining and renewing the Associate Teacher Permit are at the employee's expense. Requirements mandated by U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Head Start.
