Job Summary
We are seeking a 6th-grade long-term substitute teacher for January to March 2026. The candidate should have a passion for Christ and be able to engage students in a biblical worldview while creating an academically challenging classroom experience.
Requirements / Qualifications
•A cover letter explaining your interest in Christian education and a summary of your experience in teaching in a self-contained classroom •Resume •Three current letters of recommendation (within 2 years) •2 Professional •1 Spiritual •Preferred Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential •Passing score on the CBEST
Each employee of Mission Viejo Christian School must: •Be a Bible believing Christian •Be in agreement with and sign the MVCS Statement of Faith. •Have criminal history clearance. (Fingerprinting and background check specific to Mission Viejo Christian School to be arranged upon hiring)

•Create weekly and long range lesson plans, while assessing students regularly
•Participate in professional development, and display an attitude of always wanting to learn
•Integrate technology into teaching (Chromebook, Google Workspace, etc.)
•Use various types of curriculum resources
•Collaborate with grade level teams
