MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist the Department Chair and Associate Principal of Teaching and Learning with curriculum review and design with an eye for relevance, student engagement, values alignment, and interdisciplinary opportunities. • Participates as a member of the Academic Council, which supports the Curriculum and Instruction Committee, by providing input, insight, and feedback on academic policy, practice, and process. • With the Department Chair, participates in the interview process for new teaching candidates in the subject, including observing demo lessons, and providing feedback. • Informs Department Chair of curricular needs in the subject area classes, including teaching materials, textbooks, software, subscriptions, etc., and assists with procurement. • Proposes, and/or provides input and consultation on new curriculum and courses and assists the Department Chair and Principal’s Office with the UC approval process as the subject area content expert. • Serve as the lead instructor for all 5 courses offered through the tech program, responsible for curriculum development, instruction, and assessment. • Oversee and maintain all machines, equipment, and facilities within the tech lab, including routine maintenance, repair, and material procurement. • Manage and coach the VEX Robotics competition team, preparing students for events throughout the school year. • Coordinate and oversee all tech program sponsored clubs, such as Gamification, Cyber Patriots, and Maker Club. • Act as Program Coordinator for the school's partnership with Project Lead The Way (PLTW), ensuring alignment with PLTW standards and requirements. • Cultivate relationships and connections to create field trip opportunities, guest lectures, and other enrichment activities for tech program students. • Promote the tech program within the school community and to prospective students and families, assisting with recruitment and outreach efforts • Seek out and apply for grants, funding opp
