THE POSITION: The Project Director III for STEM Education shall provide strategic leadership and overall coordination of the STEM Mathematics, STEM Science, and STEM Special Projects Units. This role is central to unifying STEM initiatives under a shared vision that promotes integrated, innovative, and equitable learning experiences for students. The Project Director III will supervise content experts and support staff, oversee the development and implementation of cross-disciplinary initiatives, and serve as a key liaison with internal and external partners. This position ensures coherence across STEM content areas, supports districts in aligning instruction with California frameworks and standards, and builds capacity to implement evidence-based, inquiry-driven teaching practices. The Project Director III also fosters partnerships to enhance educational access, elevate student engagement, and prepare learners for success in college, careers, and a rapidly evolving global society.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience in STEM-related education, including leadership in mathematics, science, and/or STEM project coordination. Five or more years of directly related school and district level administrative experience. At least three years of site administrative experience is required. Experience providing technical assistance to school districts and developing professional learning for educators is required. County- or state-level leadership experience is desirable. EDUCATION: A Master’s degree or higher in education, mathematics, science, STEM-related field, or educational leadership from an institution of higher education accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Administrative Services Credential and a valid California Teaching Credential
