QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE • Associate’s degree or equivalent required, including or supplemented by courses or technical training in methods and practices of financial record keeping, bookkeeping methods and terminology, and computer accounting systems, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred; • Advanced skills using a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, accounting software, and communication software; • Two years of progressively responsible experience in maintaining financial or statistical records for large or medium-sized institutions; • Successful experience demonstrating tact, courtesy, positive attitude, and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work. OVERVIEW: Under the general supervision of the Director of Fiscal Services/Department Head, perform complex and responsible work in the keeping of financial and statistical records, and do job-related work as required. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee the receipt, auditing, date stamping, and routing of incoming invoices, billing statements, and claims for district funds; • Prepare input for invoice processing; reconcile vendor statements and conduct research for discrepancies; • Receive financial documents, and screens for accuracy and adherence to legal and procedural requirements; • Independently maintain a complete set of financial records, such as budget ledgers, trust funds, or cafeteria accounts; • Carry out procedural steps to obtain authorization from appropriate personnel to pay invoices received; • Post all school and department expenditures, and checks and balances totals; • Make computations of financial data; • Assist auditors by providing support and documentation; • May contact other agencies, districts, schools, and district employees to discuss financial records and transactions; • See more in job description attached below.
