Role Summary The Attendance Specialist is a critical member of the Navigator Schools site team charged with supporting students in attending school in order to access their education. Reporting to the Family Resource Coordinator, this position works in collaboration with school sta? and families. The Attendance Specialist plays an essential role in implementing Navigator’s mission of ensuring phenomenal outcomes for all students, regardless of circumstances through working to ensure all students are present and on time to school on a daily basis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ? Collaborate with the Family Resource Coordinator and site Community Schools Coordinators to implement tiered attendance strategies at each school site ? Collaborate with Support O?ce and site teams to plan and implement engagement strategies, including but not limited to: parent outreach, student awards, banners, huddle updates to sta?, and student surveys ? Monitor and respond to a daily site attendance tracker ? Conduct home visits ? Provide transportation for families to increase attendance 1 ? Meet weekly and participate as a member of each site MTSS team ? Connect families with resources to support attendance Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: ? Three+ years of working in schools, preferably in a high achieving/high challenge community ? Track record of defying the odds when working with marginalized population ? Significant experience in high challenge communities with a passion for empowering students and families ? Commitment to building relationships and trust with leaders, teachers, students, parents, and community ? Belief in and insistence on a strengths based approach, recognizing that the only way to grow is to build from people's strengths ?
