Job Summary
Long Beach Unified School District is the fourth largest district in the State of California, serving a diverse student population. The School Wellness Center Psychologist, works to promote academic achievement and lifelong success for students by facilitating social, emotional and behavioral health-related support to students in an assigned LBUSD elementary school. The psychologist will be responsible for the implementation of the district Elementary School Center framework and working with students, faculty and community to create an engaging center that provides a myriad of services for students. The School Wellness Center School Psychologist will provide individual and group social, emotional and behavioral support to students as well as support elementary school students to facilitate and implement various peer lead aspects of the center. The psychologist will also engage in a variety of engagement and outreach activities aimed at creating a positive school culture and provide access to internal and community resources for students on the elementary school campus. The School Psychologist - Elementary Wellness Center will also support school staff with professional development and consultation.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements: Hold and maintain a valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology, Master’s Degree or higher in school psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling, or a related field. Highly desirable: A clinical license such as Licensed Educational Psychology, Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Psychologist Ph.D. or Psy.D.
