GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision of the principal; escorts school children safely across the school parking lot, assists with the busses entering the school parking lot, monitors and directs parent’s vehicles; maintains friendly day-to-day contact with parents, children and other staff and does other related work, as required. This position may depend on categorical, PTA, or funding sources other than the general fund. The ability to fund this position therefore may vary from year to year.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School diploma, or equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
EXPERIENCE: One year of paid or volunteer experience working with multi-age groups of children.
ABILITIES/SKILLS: Demonstrates an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards students of varied age groups; communicates effectively in oral and written form in English; understands and carries out oral and written directions; display sufficient stamina to permit performance of duties in inclement weather; tactful and helpful under unfavorable or difficult situations; demonstrates empathy when working with students having special needs; establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with children and adults.
OTHER: Person performing service in this position classification may exert 20 to 50 pounds of force to lift carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
