Job Summary
Under the supervision of the site principal, as directed by a certificated teacher, assists in providing instruction and care to individuals or groups of students placed in Resource Specialist Program because of specific learning disabilities. Monitors and reports student progress regarding behavior and performance. Performs a variety of clerical and instructional duties and support of the instructional program as required by the disability and/or health needs of the student in order to support a safe and orderly environment for students and staff. NOTE: This position will support enrollment needs that arise throughout the District and the school site assignment may change at the discretion of the District. Initial placement will be: Job Opening #1: Brentwood Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM Job Opening #2: Village Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Requirements / Qualifications
MATERIALS: Possession of a valid California Driver License. EXPERIENCE: Required: - None Desired: - Working with children in learning situations, training or education in child development and/or learning theories EDUCATION: Required: - High School Diploma or equivalent - To be in compliance with federal and state laws applicant must meet one of the below requirements: (A) Complete a minimum of 48 college credits; OR (B) Obtain an Associate’s (or higher) degree; OR (C) Successfully pass a District-developed test assessing your knowledge of, and ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness.
