KUSD teachers enjoy many benefits including a four-day work week and a school calendar that features breaks in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, as well as six weeks off in the summer! The Monday through Thursday work week and 148-day contract provide for a work-life balance difficult to match. This regular, full-time teaching position for our 2025-2026 school year is at Kingman Unified School District's Black Mountain School in Golden Valley, AZ. Black Mountain is a K-8 school and they are known as the Panthers! Mr. Emborsky the school Principal goes by the motto of "Panther P.R.I.D.E" - Positive, Respectful, Intellectual, Dedicated & Engaged!

Position: Kindergarten Teacher Campus: Black Mountain School Year: 2026-27 (July 08, 2026 - May 19, 2027) As a KUSD teacher, here is what you can expect: A supportive environment with opportunities for professional development and growth. Work life balance through 4-day work weeks, 148-day employment contract, and 13 weeks off throughout the year. Employee health insurance options with some premiums paid at 100% by the District. A retirement pension through Arizona State Retirement System where 100% of your contributions are matched by the District. Compensation: Base Pay: KUSD's minimum and maximum new hire salary ranges for teachers include the district's contracted salary, determined by years of experience and higher education, plus state-funded Prop 301 money. The contracted salary in combination with $8,500 in 301 money creates the base wages for teachers, which are represented by the salary ranges. (Prop 301 money is paid separately and not included in the employment contract.) The salary range for candidates with up to four years of teaching experience is $45,575 - $55,475. The salary range for candidates with four or more years of teaching experience is $47,575 - $57,475. Performance Pay: In addition to base pay, certified teaching staff are eligible for an additional $4,500 in Prop 301 performance pay. One-Time Critical Needs Stipends (all critical needs stipends are pending appropriate teaching certification): Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in math, science, and kindergarten may be eligible to receive a one-time $2,000 stipend. Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in special education may be eligible to receive a one-time $5,000 stipend Available Annual Stipends (annual stipends are pending appropriate teaching certification):
To Qualify: * Bachelor's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution * An Identity Verified Print (IVP) fingerprint clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety, or ability to obtain prior to start date * Teaching certification through Arizona Department of Education: Standard Professional Elementary, K-8, Gifted endorsement * SEI, ESL or Bilingual Endorsement issued by Arizona Department of Education, within one year of hire Arizona offers an alternative path to certification for those with a Bachelor's or more advanced degree who would like to pursue a career in teaching. Individuals pursuing a teaching career through this alternative pathway must enroll in a teacher preparation program approved by the Arizona Department of Education and obtain an Alternative Teaching Certificate to be eligible for hire.
