The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Behavior Support Specialist. This promotional open opportunity is open to all interested candidates. This list will be good for three months with the possibility to be extended. BASIC FUNCTION: The Behavior Support Specialist will assist in data collection and assessment for behavior support services; assist in developing, implementing, and training staff in the use of positive behavior support and intervention techniques. VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS: Working Location: Behavior Support Resources Department, 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92103. Work Schedule: 10 months per year / 35 hours per week. This position is paid on the Paraeducators Salary Schedule. Grade 038. Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college-level courses in psychology, special education, or related field, and three (3) years of related experience. NOTE: Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application. Licenses and Other Requirements: Personality and character traits suited to providing services for students with serious behavior challenges. Some positions may require proficiency in a foreign language and/or sign language.
