BASIC FUNCTION Assist in data collection and assessment for behavior support services; assist in developing, implementing, and training staff in the use of positive behavior support and intervention techniques. The following 35 hour, 10 month Behavior Support Specialist positions are available: TRACE Alternative School - 4063 Polk Ave., San Diego, CA 92105 TRACE Alternative School Website: https://trace.sandiegounified.org/about/what_is_trace Whittier K-12 Alternative School - 3401 Clairemont Drive, San Diego, CA 92117 Whittier K-12 Alternative School Website: https://whittier.sandiegounified.org/contact_us Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employees and eligible dependents. For future vacancies: Positions are typically 32.5 - 35 hours per week and work 10 months. This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list. This list will be active for three months (or until exhausted), and may be extended. For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9). The Behavior Support Specialist will be paid on the Paraeducator Employees' Salary Schedule. Salary grade 038.

Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college-level courses in psychology, special education, or related field, and three (3) years of related experience.
