Requirements / Qualifications

The Antelope Valley Migrant Education Program Consortium provides supplemental instruction to eligible Migrant students, from Transitional Kindergarten to Grade 12. The Summer School STEAM Academy is a supplemental program that supports Migrant students, grades TK-12 to improve their literacy, reading comprehension, writing, and English and math skills. The unique structure of the program requires teachers to provide 2 hours of supplemental instruction, while also supporting their assigned cohort of students in Elective courses throughout a 5-hour day. College Tutors provide instructional support for students during classes. Study Trips (Field Trips) are provided on several days, and may include additional work hours.

Experience and Qualifications: • Minimum of one (1) years of successful teaching experience • At least 24 units in early childhood education or childhood development, or both. • Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children that is comparable to the 24 units of education described above. • Culturally responsive practitioner who is committed to eliminating opportunity disparities.
