Under the direction of the Principal, the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) teacher provides specialized expertise in the visual and performing arts through use of the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Content Standards and Framework for California Public Schools. Creates a flexible TK-8 instructional program and class environment conducive to student growth and positive learning outcomes. Establishes effective rapport with students to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each student’s ability and to meet the VAPA Content Standards for California in Visual Arts. Establishes positive relationships with other staff members and parents.

Under the guidance and direction of the principal, the visual and performing arts teacher will implement Sacramento Valley Charter School's arts program, which an emphasis upon the schools' music, art, or visual and performing arts program, including after-school student productions and performances.

1) Letter of Introduction 2) Resume 2) Application 4) Bachelor's Degree in music education, music theory, visual and performing arts, or a related field of study. 5) CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art, Music, or Theater OR: District Intern Certificate providing eligibility to teach in a California classroom, OR: CA K-8 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
