Position Summary: Valley Charter Middle School is seeking for a special education assistant who will work with students under the supervision of the RSP teacher 5 days a week. Candidates must be able to work from 8 to 3:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and from 8 to 1:30 on Thursday. Responsibilities Serve as a Behavior Interventionist for a student for two periods a day For the balance of the day, under the supervision of the RSP teacher, work with students with IEPS in the classroom for academic and behavior support Take notes during or after sessions so you can monitor and share student progress with the RSP teacher Create a positive, safe and healthy learning environment Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor's degree Experience working in a middle school or with middle school- aged students Experience working with and supporting students with special needs SALARY AND BENEFITS: Pay is between $24 to $26 an hour, depending on experience Full medical, dental, and vision benefits available HOW TO APPLY Send resume and cover letter to the VCS Executive Director, Carolyn Yaffe, at cyaffe@valleycharterschool.org
