Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of: Proper methods for preparing, cooking, baking, and serving foods in large quantities. Methods of maintaining work areas in a safe and sanitary condition. Commercial kitchen utensils and equipment. Basic math, weights, and measures. Proper use of grammar and effective communication both verbally and in writing. Typical office computer software and programs used in school food services: Word, Excel, Google Forms, and E-mails.
Valid Food Protection Manager Certificate issued by an authorized agency within 3 months of employment; must maintain certification throughout employment.

Under general direction of the Administrator of Food & Nutrition Services or the Central Production Manager, lead and participate in the operation of a school cafeteria or the central
production kitchen.
Experience:
Two years of paid experience in quantity food preparation and serving, preferably including some supervisory duties; or two years of experience as a Food Service Assistant with the
Alhambra Unified School District; or one year of experience as a Cook/Baker with the Alhambra Unified School District.
