The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires schools to be in compliance when hiring paraprofessionals for classroom instruction. The following requirements are: • Graduation from High School or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency. • Completion of two years of higher education (48 semester units) or possession of an Associate’s or higher degree.

Comments and Other Information

Under supervision to perform a variety of instructional and clerical duties designed to free the instructor from routine work related to the instructional program and to allow the students to interact with the hearing world; and to do related work as required. Experience: Informal training or experience with sign language skills preferred.
