Job Summary
The Head Cheer Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the High School cheerleading program including coaching, supervision, training, and administration. This role includes planning practices, promoting school spirit, ensuring the safety of student-athletes, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Cheer has 2 seasons; Fall: Traditional/Sideline Cheer and Winter: Stunt-Competition. The Head Coach is expected to uphold the values of the school, promote academic success, and maintain compliance with all school, district, and CIF regulations. __ Key Responsibilities: * Plan, organize, and execute cheer practices, performances, and game-day activities. * Develop routines for sideline cheers, halftime shows, pep rallies, and competitions. * Provide instruction in proper techniques, safety protocols, conditioning, and team-building. * Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, school spirit, and academic excellence. * Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and student-athletes. * Ensure all student-athletes meet eligibility and conduct standards. * Manage uniforms, equipment, and program budget in coordination with the Athletic Department. *Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and administration. *Coordinate with athletic trainers for injury prevention and rehabilitation. * Organize and oversee fundraising events as needed. * Attend all required meetings, trainings, and competitions. NO COACH IS TO PERFORM WORK SERVICES/ATTEND PRACTICES WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM HUMAN RESOURCES.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Completion of one of the following courses: “Fundamentals of Coaching” course completion certificate, Online Course, available through National Federation of High Schools (www.nfhslearn.com) or "Coaching Principles” completion certificate. Online course, available through Human Kinetics Coach Education Center (http://www.asep.com/courseInfo/purchase_courseinfo.cfm?CourseID=228&OrgID=28) * "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" course completion certificate. Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Concussion in Sports" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Heat Illness Prevention" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * CPR & First Aid: evidence of current certification. MUST be recognized by American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. (Online Courses Unacceptable) * TB Test: evidence of current negative test OR Adult TB Risk Assessment Form. * Current Driver License at time of employment. Candidates to upload required Certificates to EdJoin.org application in order for applications to be considered. * Certification * CPR/First Aid Certification * Driver's License Copy * Fingerprint Clearance * Letter(s) of Recommendation
