Job Summary
The Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) leads the implementation of the District’s VAPA program, supporting the Salinas Union High School District’s mission of academic excellence and emotional safety. This role oversees the vision, development, and evaluation of 7–12 grade VAPA programs, advises district and school leadership, and manages the VAPA program budget.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: -Bachelor's Degree in a related field -Five (5) years working in an educational setting -Two (2) years of leadership experience Desirable Qualifications: -Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university -California Teaching Credential in Music -Bilingual/Bi-literate English/Spanish preferred -Experience developing VAPA curriculum, instruction, and programming -Experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse groups -Experience with conflict resolution Licenses and Other Requirements: -Valid CA Motor Vehicle Operator’s License -Personal Vehicle for daily use -An acceptable driving record and qualification for insurability by the district insurance carrier Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance -Evidence of TB clearance
