JOB DESCRIPTION: Elementary School Teacher, Grade K-6 JOB TYPE: Full Time DIRECT REPORT: School Principal COMPENSATION: Is structured according to educational experience and education units. DESCRIPTION A teacher at St. Paul school is responsible for supervising, educating and supporting students to meet academic, developmental and spiritual goals. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS 1. Strong classroom management skills, effective communication, and the ability to create engaging learning experiences aligned to academic content standards. 2. Plan instruction using standards-based adopted curriculum. 3. Impact student learning through mastery of all subject material. 4. Use a variety of effective, research-based teaching techniques to meet the individual needs of each student. 5. Teach classes as assigned, following the prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by school principal. 6. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of each students’ progress by assessing the learning of students on a regular basis. 7. Keep regular accounting of attendance, academic progress, and behavioral reports to regularly communicate with parents. 8. Commitment to the school’s Mission, Vision, and Values to St. Paul Lutheran Ministries. 9. Integrate biblical principles throughout the curriculum 10. Follow the school’s agreed upon discipline policy and procedures. 11. Supervise extra-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned. 12. Know, rehearse, and be able to execute school emergency procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor's degree in education and completion of a Commission-approved multiple subject program. 2. Valid CPR Certification preferred, but not required.
