BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support to both the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees. This position is responsible for managing complex assignments with exceptional skill, accuracy, and discretion. The Executive Assistant coordinates the daily operations and support services of the Superintendent’s Office and acts as a liaison between the Superintendent, Board members, district leadership, staff, and the community. In this capacity, the Executive Assistant relieves the Superintendent of a wide range of administrative responsibilities, represents the district at meetings and conferences, and performs additional duties as required. A strong emphasis is placed on fostering effective working relationships with district and site-level personnel while upholding strict standards of confidentiality and professionalism in all matters involving students, parents, and staff. As a member of the confidential employee unit, distinct from the classified unit, this role encompasses duties related to labor negotiations and employee-employer relations. The Executive Assistant engages regularly with the Governing Board, governmental agencies, the public, and media representatives, exercising independent judgment and a high level of discretion. Additionally, the Executive Assistant plays a vital public relations role, serving as a key point of contact between the district and the broader community, including parents and external educational partners.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • Additional coursework or training in business administration, public relations, communications, or a related field is desirable. • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience at an executive level in a public or private organization is required. • Experience in a public school district or educational setting is desirable but not required. • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
