Under the Direction of the Special Education Administrator, the BCBA role will be a key contributor to the development of highly individualized Behavior Intervention Plans for the small percentage of students in special education who have not responded to earlier attempts at behavior intervention. The BCBA will partner closely with school psychologists, mental health providers, special education case managers, school leaders, and school site coordinators to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments, co-create Behavior Intervention Plans with IEP team members, and support with ongoing implementation and coaching to ensure fidelity. The BCBA will lead training to build capacity for the IEP team members to enhance behavior expertise and may also be involved in crisis-level support. Assist and/or create safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as delivering professional development to MVLAHSD staff. This position requires previous training and experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs. It requires a commitment to serving students and a desire to think critically and creatively about how to support challenging behaviors in both general education and or special education classroom settings. This position will serve multiple school sites.
Requirements / Qualifications
Cover Letter Resume Two Letters of Recommendation Unofficial Transcripts BCBA License/Certification Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Speech Therapy, Behavioral Science or related field, Master's Degree desired. Successful experience in a school setting preferred.
