Job Summary

Full time Primary Grade Teaching position in small, single school TK-6 district. Essential Duties: Collaborate to prepare daily lesson plans aligned with standards and focused on supporting students in meeting their educational goals with measurable objectives, procedures, and assessments. Integrate the use of technology into curriculum using resources made available by the school. Maintain a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom community through a positive discipline approach and engaging curriculum. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members. Attend meetings and perform supervision and additional duties as needed.

Primary grade, self-contained classroom in a single school district setting.  A background in high quality common core aligned instruction infused with technology integration is highly desired.  Prior elementary experience preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles
  • Knowledge of subject matter, including the Common Core State Standards
  • Knowledge of and experience using a variety of assessments
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
  • Ability and desire to reflect and improve
  • Willingness to collaborate with other staff members and famliies
  • Basic knowledge in use of educational technology to enhance instructiion
  • Ability to communicate openly as part of skilled and dedicated professional team. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Organizes classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn and are fully engaged with their learning
  • Establishes a culture of high expectations
  • Ensures students' academic growth in reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music
  • Develops and implements creative, rigorous lesson plans and classroom activities based on the Common Core State Standards
  • Assesses students regularly, examines student assessment data, and refines classroom activities to differentiate instruction for each student
  • Collaborates with team members to improve own and others’ instructional practices; shares best practices
  • Uses technology to enhance student learning.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to professional development activities
  • Provides students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress;regularly involves parents/guardians in their students’ education
  • Tracks critical student information and maintains accurate student records, including attendance
  • Identifies unique student needs and collaborates with other team members and outside service providers to diagnose and addresses learning challenges
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
