Job Summary
Instructor will teach assigned topics within our semester long evening/weekend EMT program (20wks T/Th 6-9pm, plus 2 Sat per month 8am-4pm) and/or within our daytime accelerated EMT program (7 weeks M/T/W/F 4:30pm, Sat 8am-4pm). Our EMT course is offered twice per year (Fall, Spring Terms) and our accelerated EMT course is offered three times per year (Fall, Spring, Summer Terms). EMT students earn a certificate of completion that gives them eligibility to apply for the National Registry EMT Cognitive Exam.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED • Be a California certified EMT, Advanced EMT, California licensed Physician, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Paramedic AND • 1+ year(s) of relevant work experience on an ambulance or in emergency care, trauma, or critical care AND • Hold a current California Teaching Credential listed below: >Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential: Public Services OR >Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential: Health Science & Medical Technology OR >Eligibility for a preliminary CTE credential includes outline on CTC Website https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/designated-subjects-(cl-888) DESIRED • Hold an AA Degree or higher • 5+ years of relevant work experience • 1+ year teaching experience The following items must be submitted via in order to complete the application process: • Personal letter of application giving reasons for being interested in this position • Current resume • Copy of the appropriate credentials • 3-5 current letters of recommendation.
