Job Summary
Mayfair Middle/High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our Visual and Performing Arts Department. The ideal candidate will inspire students through a comprehensive dance curriculum, integrating technique, choreography, performance, and dance theory. We are looking for a creative educator who will contribute to a thriving school culture and actively support school-wide performances, showcases, and events. Responsibilities ? Teach dance to students in grades 6–12, including but not limited to ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and cultural dance forms. Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with California Arts Standards for Dance. ? Prepare students for school-wide performances, assemblies, showcases, and possible competitions. ? Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. ? Collaborate with other teachers in the Arts Department and school-wide programs. ? Assess and evaluate student performance and growth. ? Maintain appropriate records and communicate with students, parents/guardians, and staff. ? Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent engagement activities

Qualifications Required: ? Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Dance (or eligibility for Intern Credential). ? English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent). Preferred: ? Experience teaching dance to middle and/or high school students. ? Choreography and stage production experience. ? Background in culturally responsive pedagogy and inclusive teaching practices. ? Ability to lead extracurricular dance teams or clubs.
