Job Summary
The Assistant Superintendent – Human Resources reports to the Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources has the highest level administrative and leadership responsibility for all aspects of the Human Resources functions of the District. This includes the planning, operation, and evaluation of services provided by the Human Resources Office and the staff assigned thereto; serving as the District’s chief negotiator with employee bargaining units, managing the grievance and complaint processes as they relate to employee contracts and employee performance; and representing the District in due process and legal proceedings. This position will support the planning and organization of comprehensive personnel program, including recruitment, selection, wage and salary administration, employee benefits, employee records, training, and employer-employee relations. The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources will plan, direct, manage a variety of human resource functions for the district’s employees. The Assistant Superintendent – Human Resources serves on the Superintendent’s Cabinet and is an active participant of the District management group. This position also performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: •Site and Director level experience preferred. •Excellent communication skills and a record of effective interaction with community, staff, parents and students. EDUCATION: •A Master’s Degree is required; with course work in education or a related field. •Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, personnel administration, education, or a related field. EQUIVALENCY: A combination of education, training, and/or job experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Certificated - 12 month position – 220 work days
Classified - 12 month position – 260 work days (Paid holidays included)
Cabinet experience highly desired.
Position is available for either Certificated or Classified applicants
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for June 13th. Applicants invited to interview must be available for the full day.
