
Full Time Temporary Accounting Instructor at Mt. San Jacinto College

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Temporary Accounting Instructor located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks an Accounting Instructor to teach and develop courses in Accounting. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. The ideal candidate is student-oriented in their approach and dedicated to student success and will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning and will create welcoming learning environments that are equity-based and culturally affirming. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus, and online classes. This recruitment is for a full-time temporary assignment for the Academic Year 2025/2026 (August 8, 2025 – May 21, 2026)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration; (attach transcripts) OR 2. A Bachelor’s degree in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis; AND a Master’s degree in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance; (attach transcripts) OR 3. A Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license; (attach transcripts/license) OR 4. The equivalent; AND 5. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Strong academic preparation in Accounting as evidenced by undergraduate and graduate level coursework 2. Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of Accounting courses 3. Recent (within the last five (5) years) teaching experience in Accounting at an accredited college or university, community college experience preferred 4. Demonstrated commitment to diverse teaching methods and learning styles, particularly as applied to the learning of Accounting 5. Evidence of a strong commitment to remain current in Accounting and the instruction of Accounting 6. Interest in and/or ability to use relevant and modern technology in Accounting instruction, including online instruction
