Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Adult and Career Technology Education or Adult Education Principal, provide an educational program and teach one or more classes in Custodial Technician training. Provide extensive expertise, instructional support, and training related to the janitorial and custodial services industry as part of a program of study based on state-adopted Career Technical Education (CTE) standards for building maintenance and custodial services. Work collaboratively with students, support staff, administrators, business agencies, and community groups to enhance training and employment opportunities for students. Emphasize social and interpersonal skills related to career development and vocational training. Teach a variety of custodial and janitorial skills such as safe chemical handling, floor care, sanitation techniques, equipment operation, and OSHA safety regulations. Provide students with an understanding of industry standards, workplace expectations, and cleaning protocols necessary for success in custodial careers. The current opening is for Summer Quarter: July 1 - August 30, 2025 5 week class - 1 1/2 hours/day, twice a week in the evenings

Requirements / Qualifications

In possession or willing to obtain a California Designated Subjects/ Career Technical Education Teaching Credential. Non-credentialed applicants must be prepared to verify three years of work experience directly related to the subject named on the credential. One year shall equal a minimum of 1,000 clock hours and the experience may be either full or part time, paid or unpaid. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the credential. Possession of or eligibility for a valid California Career Technical Education Credential with specialization in Health Science and Medical Technology. Instructor is responsible for maintaining proper and correct credentials.
