POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Principal, instruct science classes utilizing the state content standards and course of study adopted by the school district in the area of Science. DUTIES – E=Essential Duties Use the District adopted science materials to deliver science lessons to students E; collaborate with teachers to coordinate instruction E; communicate with teachers, students and parents regarding student progress E; organize and manage the Science Fair E; coordinate with site administration E; other responsibilities as detailed in the Albany Teacher Job Description; other duties as assigned E; provide individual or small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students and accommodates circumstances where a variety of skills are being worked on simultaneously E; establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior in order to provide a total atmosphere for learning E; evaluate pupil’s academic and social growth in a fair and equitable manner, including the preparation of progress reports E; keep appropriate records including attendance E; establish and maintain rapport with school personnel E; other duties as assigned E; establish and maintain standard of pupil behavior for a productive learning environment during class sessions and field trips E; communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress E; participate in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities E; coordinate with site administration E Requirements: 1. Valid California Single Subject Credential in Science 2. English Learner authorization is required 3. Valid California driver’s license

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to work cooperatively
2. Knowledge of District adopted science curriculum
3. Current Valid California Driver’s License
4. Current California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with Subject Matter Authorization or Single Subject Science Credential
