
Full Time Temporary Computer Science Instructor at Mt. San Jacinto College

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Temporary Computer Science Instructor located at our campus in Menifee, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Computer Science Instructor to teach and develop courses in Computer Science. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through departmental, instructional and other required campus meetings as well as Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus and off-campus classes. This recruitment is for a full-time temporary assignment for the Academic Year 2025/2026 (August 8, 2025 – May 21, 2026)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in computer science, or computer engineering; (attach transcripts) OR 2. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, or computer engineering; AND a Master's degree in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting, or engineering; (attach transcripts) OR 3. A Bachelor's degree in mathematics; AND a Master's degree in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration; (attach transcripts) OR 4. A Bachelor's degree in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration; AND a Master's degree in information science, computer information systems, or information systems; (attach transcripts) OR 5. The equivalent; AND 6. Demonstrated: Teaching core courses in computer science transfer degree: -Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete mathematics, C++, Java, Computer architecture, Assembly language and their applications to computational problem-solving -Object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software engineering methodologies; AND 7. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Strong academic and occupational preparation in CIS as evidenced by undergraduate and graduate level coursework and relevant work experience 2. A Master's degree in Computer Science Information Systems or other advanced course work and/or certification in related information technology disciplines 3. Demonstrated: a. Ability to teach courses in artificial intelligence (ML/DL, NLP, DV, and data science), operating systems, networking, and AI tools and technology within cybersecurity b.
