
High School Counselor at Covina-Valley Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
The counselor develops and oversees implementation of the 9-12 comprehensive guidance program for the school, which ensures all Covina-Valley students focus on age-appropriate personal, academic, and college or career goals. The counselor is responsible to help students attain their maximum personal, social, and educational potential. The counselor will ensure that students meet four-year college eligibility requirements. Must have a bachelor’s degree as well as a Pupil Personnel Services Credential: School Counseling or enrollment in and making adequate progress towards acquiring a credential authorizing service as a counselor as determined by the District.
Covina-Valley Unified School District offers 3 different employer-paid HMO medical plans (Kaiser HMO, BlueShield of California Access HMO, and Trio HMO) to choose from as well as full dental, vision, and life insurance plans at no cost to all benefit-eligible employees. Extended coverage for your qualified dependents is also available at a low price. Employees who work 31+ hours/weekly also have the option to choose a low-cost PPO plan. The following must be submitted with the edjoin application:
