JOB OPENING SCHOOL COUNSELOR (20205-2026 School Year) Positions begin: August 1, 2025 Application due date: Until the position is filled Salary Range: $69,626.00 to $109,376.00 Junipero Serra High School is a Catholic college preparatory for boys located in San Mateo, in the heart of the San Francisco Peninsula. Serra’s faculty and staff are deeply committed to mentoring their students, providing a framework for young men to grow in faith, intellect and character. Reports to: Director of Counseling and Guidance Responsibilities include: ? Manage a caseload of juniors and seniors ? Counsel students regarding academic and social-personal challenges to support their educational journey and overall well-being ? Communicate and collaborate with teachers, administrators and parents regarding student progress and concerns ? Collaborate with other counselors and the wellness counselor to address student needs and overall counseling concerns, as needed ? Collaborate with the Academic Resource Specialist to best serve student needs. ? Provide appropriate referrals to outside agencies and therapists when needed. ? Teach the College Advising Seminar course for juniors ? Write, coordinate and submit student profiles and recommendations for college applications ? Collaboratively plan department events, including college representative visits, speaker series, mock interviews, test preparation programs, and financial planning events ? Steward relationships with domestic and international colleges and universities ? Organize, facilitate and present counseling and college admissions information sessions to large groups of students, parents, faculty, Board of Trustees Competencies Required:
