Requirements / Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: * Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. with equivalent training and experience to sufficiently demonstrate the knowledge and perform the abilities listed above; * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures to adequately complete necessary ordering, paperwork, and reporting; * Knowledge of the requirements of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program; * 4+ years experience in school food service required; * Lead or supervisory experience required. * Experience in quantity food service operations using semi-scratch cooking models highly desirable. Required Licenses and/or Certificates: * Food safety manager certificate * To operate a vehicle in the performance of duties, operator must possess an appropriate valid California Driver’s License and maintain possession of such license during the course of employment; * Have an acceptable driving record; * Must be insurable at standard rates by the District's insurance carrier and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.

This new position offers a unique opportunity to help shape and grow a district-wide meal program. Responsibilities include participating in daily production, as well as training, assigning, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
