
INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE - CLASSROOM at Covina-Valley Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
The Vacancy: There are a few part-time (3.75 - 6 hours a day) Instructional Aide permanent positions at various school sites. Positions are for special education classes, and one-on-one instructional classroom aides to work with students with special needs (including behavioral, medical, etc.). This recruitment will also be used to develop an eligibility list to fill future part-time vacancies and substitute/temporary positions in this classification for up to six months. The Position: Under immediate supervision, to assist the classroom teacher and other certificated personnel in the performance of their duties and in the supervision of pupils and by performing those tasks which are supportive of the instructional program and conducive to the academic, physical, social, and emotional growth of the student; and to do related work as required.
Required Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED; an AA degree or a minimum of 48 college units; possession of a valid First Aid/CPR training certificate. Experience with youth activities in home, church, or community is desirable. Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish is desirable. Selection Procedure: The selection process will consist of a written exam and a qualifications appraisal interview (each weighted 50%).
