Job Summary
Under direction of the MTSS Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) and the supervision of a school principal, provide instructional support to students by mentoring, modeling and checking for understanding. Also assists teachers and counselors in identifying and addressing students’ academic and social emotional needs. This job reports to the Site Administrator, MTSS TOSA or designee.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE Sites may require the ability to communicate in Spanish, translating both written and verbal information from Spanish to English and English to Spanish. Bilingual preferred. Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from secondary school or equivalent GED and one (1) year experience working with elementary school-age children in intervention groups in an organized educational other structured setting. (For more information, please view the Job Description) EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each test part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three (3) business days prior to the testing date. Date of Examination Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
