Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school and one-year general gardening or grounds-keeping experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Valid California Driver License. • Current & complete K-4 DMV report with California State seal (Printed within 7 days of application). • Knowledge of operation of hand and power tools and motorized grounds equipment used in gardening and grounds-keeping. • Knowledge of basic gardening and grounds maintenance procedures including mowing, edging, raking, weeding, planting and seeding. • Knowledge of herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals used in grounds maintenance and their proper applications. • Knowledge of health and safety regulations. • Ability to perform general gardening and grounds maintenance activities including mowing, edging and weeding. • Ability to operate power equipment safely and effectively. • Ability to mow, edge, water, weed, fertilize, rake and cultivate lawns, fields and other landscaped areas. • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull heavy objects in excess of 50 lb.
