Alexander Valley School is seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic After-School Assistant to support our after-school program. The After-School Assistant will help provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for elementary students during after-school hours. Responsibilities include supervising students, working with partner instructors in age-appropriate science and art-related activities, assisting with homework, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and supporting a positive and inclusive environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
Materials Required for Hire: Letter of Interest Resume Two professional/personal reference letters
Prior to being hired, the candidate will need to provide the following: Valid photo ID (driver’s license or state-issued ID) Fingerprint clearance through Live Scan background check Negative TB test result (within the past 4 years) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Promote positive student behavior and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Assist with snack distribution and cleanup.
Support students with homework or quiet time activities.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
Maintain a clean and organized program space.
Follow all school policies and procedures.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred.
Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
Ability to supervise children and manage small groups effectively.
Must pass background check and meet district employment requirements.
