Job Summary
Under the direction of the executive director and administrative director, plans for and provides English language development (ELD) instruction for students who have been identified as eligible for ELD services (formerly known as ESOL) through the state mandated English language proficiency test. Serves as a resource for information regarding students who are EML, cultural and linguistic differences, English language development, and the ELD instructional program; serves as a resource to explain the ELD instructional program to parents; serves as a resource for students, parents, staff, and community, as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required • Degree in the subject they will teach or direct subject-area teaching experience • A valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or Single Subject Teaching Credential or equivalent or combination of credentials authorizing K-12 teaching service in a specific arts area • English Learner authorization required • Holds California teacher certification in ESOL/ELD • Teaching experience in a public or private school required • Previous teaching experience with the ability to engage and inspire students • Tuberculosis (TB) test clearance is required • Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan clearance is required
