We are looking for an American Sign Language Educational Interpreter to join our Special Education team! Nevada County Superintendent of Schools proudly serves a diverse group of charter schools and districts; Grass Valley, Nevada City, Nevada Union, Pleasant Ridge, Penn Valley, Twin Ridges, and Union Hill. Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A combination of training and experience, which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities, may be qualifying. We reserve the right to determine if a candidate meets the qualifications. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Certified by the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or equivalent; in lieu of RID certification or equivalent, an educational interpreter must have achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, the ESSE-I/R, or the NAD/ACCI assessment. • Candidates with waiver may be considered for entry level placement while obtaining certification. o Must have passed the EIPA with a score 2.5 or above, to meet waiver requirements. Full certification is required to maintain employment.
