Job Summary

Job Summary

The Program Leader Substitute is responsible for managing a classroom environment, ensuring student safety, and facilitating the daily implementation of enrichment programs. These programs may include, but are not limited to: sports, STEM, coding, nutrition, outdoor education, and creative arts. Work Schedule Availability: Minimum of 2 days per week Hours: Must be available from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Requirements / Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities Facilitate project-based learning to support student skill development. Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment in both classroom and outdoor settings. Set and uphold clear behavioral expectations using positive discipline strategies. Foster a sense of belonging where every student feels valued and respected. Communicate effectively to build trust with students, staff, and families. Represent ProYouth’s mission and values through professional conduct and appearance. Supervise students in various settings (e.g., classroom, playground, library) to ensure safety and adherence to program expectations. Collaborate with the Site Director and program staff to deliver engaging, well-organized activities. Address concerns or challenges promptly with the appropriate supervisor. Build and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, school staff, and families. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, site trainings, and learning communities. Contribute as a collaborative team member to enhance program quality and share best practices. Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of training and responsibilities.

Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent and one of the following: Completion of 48 college semester units, or Valid NCLB Paraprofessional Certification Minimum of two years of experience working with youth (preferred).
