From community schools to the Butler Academic Center at juvenile hall, county teachers are charged with reaching youth with high levels of educational and behavioral need. Our programs are listed below: - Butler Academic Center (2500 Fairmont Dr. San Leandro, CA 94578) / Camp Sweeney Academic Center (2600 Fairmont Dr. San Leandro, CA 94578)
QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: You must possess a valid California Elementary or Secondary Teaching credential based on a bachelor’s degree and student teaching and verification of passing the CBEST or a letter from the Credentials Office of your employing school district stating that you have been employed in a certificated position in the past 39 months. If you received a credential prior to February 1, 1983, you may be exempt. NOTE: Some teachers may be asked to participate on Classroom Set-up Day, June 30, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (5 hrs. total, does not include lunch) Work hours will be 7.25 hrs/day. All summer school teachers are expected to teach for their entire contracted time.
