About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the “Gateway to the Delta” and is one of California’s oldest cities, with a diverse community of approximately 100,000. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of identified Title I students in a classroom, laboratory, or other learning environment; tutor students in assigned subject areas; provide clerical program support.

Unit: CSEA Hours/Work Year: 2.5 to 4 per day (10 Months - Student Days Only) CSEA Salary Range 118: Step A $22.59, Step B $23.73, Step C $24.93, Step D $26.19, Step E $27.52, Step F $28.91 APPLICATION DEADLINE – MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2025 by 4:30 PM Promotional/Open: The promotional group as well as the public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. Application, resume and answers to supplemental questions are required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
SELECTION & EXAMINCATIONS: The selection process will consist of an application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. A written exam that meets the “Every Student Succeeds Act” (ESSA) requirements (weighted 60%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 40%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on all exams to be placed on the eligibility list. Final selections will be made from the three highest accepting ranks off the eligibility list.
