Job Summary

Job Summary

St. Dorothy School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Elementary/Junior High Music Teacher to join our staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the music industry or music education, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to inspire students to develop a lifelong love for music while preparing them for high school music programs. An understanding of Catholic liturgy and liturgical music is preferred.

Requirements / Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field - Valid teaching certification/license (if applicable).

- Previous experience teaching music to elementary/junior high students. - Strong musical proficiency and knowledge of music theory, vocal techniques, and various musical instruments. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential in music. - Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. - Experience leading and planning liturgical music for Catholic masses is preferred. - Implement a comprehensive music curriculum for students in grades TK-8 - Plan and facilitate engaging music lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students. - Organize and lead school performances, concerts, and other musical events to showcase students' achievements. - Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary lessons and promote cross-curricular connections. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on students' progress and encourage their involvement in music education. - Plan music for weekly school liturgies and lead rehearsals for Worship Band and/or Choir
