Sacramento City Unified School District seeks an inspirational and enthusiastic principal to lead, design, and shape Bret Harte Elementary School into a warm and high achieving destination for learning where all families, students, and staff wish to be. This is an opportunity for an innovative leader to craft a new vision and establish a culture on the campus where all stakeholders are invested in their neighborhood school and students are motivated to strive for excellence in a safe, nurturing, and academically engaging environment that results in students achieving. Bret Harte's new principal will need to continue to grow student performance in English Language Arts and Mathematics across all student groups by having a deep understanding of data that allows them to design a School Plan and align fiscal resources to directly impact student achievement. This leader will need to be visionary in their methods to address historically declining enrollment, neighborhood engagement, gaps in growth measures for our students of color and students receiving special education, Universal Design for Learning, and a Multi-Tiered System of Supports. Bret Harte's new leader must be an expert in monitoring and evaluating early literacy, English Language Development and high quality instruction centered on culturally relevant practices. Finally as a school that is honored to serve students in specialized settings we seek a leader who has strong knowledge of IEP development, goal monitoring, and can partner with families and district departments. The goal for Bret Harte Elementary is to create a warm, inclusive and high achieving neighborhood school where members of the service community are eager to send their students, students are excited to learn, and staff are inspiring through high quality programming and practices. Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required, and preference will be given for additional elementary school teaching experience, administrative, or supervisorial experience at the elementary level. Preference given to bilingual speakers, and expertise in vital programs within individual schools including, but not limited to, STEAM, Montessori, Dual Immersion, Waldorf, etc. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Hold a valid Administrative Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.

- Credential Copy (or Document Number listed on CTC/if enrolled in an intern program or preliminary program must provide letter from program verifying enrollment and expected completion of program (for intern program, letter must state you are intern eligible))

- Resume (current and up-to-date)
